lexi / senior.

The Genesee County Class of 2017 has a lot of options when it comes to senior portrait photographers. So I’m always over here like YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! when I’m chosen to capture these once in a lifetime photographs. The images that will be in the yearbook for, well, ever. The photos these 12th graders will be excitedly passing to their friends in the hallway at school (do they still do that? I hope so). I just LOVE seniors. And here’s why.

Lexi, you are as pretty as you are sweet, and I hope you have the most amazing final year at BHS!

larissa & jeff / maternity.

The most difficult part of being a photographer (for me) is finding pretty and unique locations to take my clients. I don’t have a studio. I don’t have a ton of acres in the country. But when a client does, I take advantage of it. Larissa and Jeff live on a beautiful bunch of acres, and their maternity session was a bit more meaningful being at their favorite place, home.

My blogging has been super infrequent this summer what with teaching summer school and keeping up with this business, but I had to find the time to share this session with you guys. I think we can all agree that Larissa is a goddess.

Enjoy these last few days of summer!

courtney & brett / wedding.

I may be biased, but this little lady is probably the most beautiful bride in all the land. Nevermind that she’s my bff’s baby sister and the reason I can now advertise myself as a wedding photographer. She was amazing to work with, and I cry a little just thinking about how she wanted me to be there with her on such a monumental day. So much that she asked ME to photograph her wedding day and had no doubt in her mind that I would be able to handle it. I love you, Court! Enjoy your preview…oh, you too, Brett.

at home with leah avery.

Two of my best buds made this perfect little human, and I feel so lucky that I get to photograph all of her big moments. For forever, like on Fame. Leah was a perfect 16 days new when we had her at-home lifestyle session with her mom and dad. Anytime within the first month works, but keep in mind, I only work with natural light so you’ve got to have some great windows to make a session like this happen.

Here’s to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them. Welcome to the world little girl! You’re in good hands.

the gift that keeps on giving.

I know how hard it is to buy gifts for mom and grandma. The ladies in your life who seem to have everything they could want or need (or they’d get it themselves because hi, we are independent women). I struggle to get more creative than an Amazon gift card every year, for every occasion. So when a past client called me about taking photos of her kids and her sister-in-laws kids for her MIL’s birthday present I was like you are a genius.

The best part about scheduling a session for your kids or your family and turning those photos into a gift for mom, grandma, dad, grandpa….whoever is that YOU get to keep the photos as well. #winning
